Configuring United Parcel Service (UPS) Carrier will help you associate any addresses in the domestic even or internation. The number of countries UPS shipping method supports by land and air is greater than 220 countries, therefore, it is flexible to delivery products.

Step 1: Create a UPS Shipping account

Must create a UPS Shipping account firstly before configuring this shipping method.

Step 2: Apply UPS

  • On the Admin Panel, you can go to Stores , then choose Settings , click Configurations.
  • On the left panel, under Sales, you may select Shipping Method.
  • Open the UPS section
    • By choosing Yes in the Enabled for Checkout field, you can accept to enable UPS method .
    • If you set UPS Type to “United Parcel Service”, you need to continue:
      • You may choose one of the options in the Live Account field :
        • “Yes” – if you want to run UPS in production mode and suggest the UPS as a shipping method for your customers.
        • “No” – if you want UPS to run in only test mode.
      • To calculate the UPS shipping rate, you may enter Gateway URL . The default is ready to use, and you don’t need to change.
    • If you set UPS Type to “United Parcel Service XML”
  • To configure , UPS Type must be set to “United Parcel XML”.
    • Complete UPS XML account information: Access License Number, Password, and User ID.
    • Enable to send data to the UPS shipping system by setting Live for the Mode.
    • If you want to send requests by XML file, Verify the Gateway XML URL .
    • You may choose the Origin of the Shipment that is the region the shipment initiates.
    • If you create special rates with UPS, choose Yes for Enable Negotiated Rates . Then it is required to enter 6-character in the Shipper Number field.
  • You may enter the Title for the name of the shipping method that is shown during the checkout process. If skip, the title default- “United Parcel Service” is enabled.

Step 3: Setup the Container Description

  • You may choose the Packages Request Type: “Use origin weight (few requests)” or “Divide to equal weight (one request)”
  • You may set the Container to the typical packaging type for the shipment.
  • You may set the Weight Unit to “LBS” or “KGS”.
  • You may select the Destination Type:
    • “Residential” – Most of your shipments are business to consumer (B2C)
    • “Commercial” – Most of your shipments are business to business (B2B)
  • You may insert the number of the Maximum Package Weight in the carrier.
  • You may set the Pick Method to the available options: “Regular Daily Pickup”, “On Call Air”, “One Time Pickup”, “Letter Center”, and “Customer Counter”.
  • You may insert the number of the Minimum Package Weight in the carrier.

Step 4: Setup Handling Fees

  • You may set Calculate Handling Fee to “Fixed” or “Percent”.
  • In the Handling Applied field, enable to specify how to calculate the handling fee.
  • You may insert the amount of Handling Fee.

Step 5: Assign Allowed Methods and Applicable Countries

  • From the Allowed Method list, you may choose UPS method offered to your customers .
  • You may select the UPS service you want to apply free shipping for in the Free Method field.
  •  If UPS Shipping is not available, you may enter a error message in the Displayed Error Message box that will appear.
  • You can set Ship to Applicable Countries to one of two options:
    • All Allowed Countries : UPS Shipping is supported for every country.
    • Specific Countries: UPS Shipping is only supported for selected countries.
  • You may  set Show Method if Not Applicable to Yes if you want to show UPS Shipping all time.
  • To create a log file with the details of UPS shipments, you may set Debug to “Yes”.
  • You may  set the Sort Order on the Shipping Method on the checkout page.
  •  To finish, you may  save Config.
